New Home

Well thank goodness the gf and I have a new place to live. We are going to be moving up to the Logan Square neighborhood! You can read a little more about Logan Square here... From our apartment you can actually see the public square that the neighborhood is named after.
We finally have a one bedroom instead of a studio, so now we can balance our sleep schedules a little better. I don't have to worry about keeping her up, and she doesn't have to worry about making me go to be earlier then I like. There is also a lot more open, grassy spaces for the dog to walk in, and someplace for me to lock up my bike (and perhaps a scooter again?), so I don't have to worry about carrying the bike up and down three flights of stairs. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention again that it's the third floor. When I first told the gf that there were no decent apartments on the first 2 floors of any building I thought I was just kidding, but now I suspect that insight might have been more accurate then I had thought.

Sport Coat

Another day, and another chance to get dressed up. Tonight at school Target has a presentation at LUC, and I've signed up to go. I don't think that warrants a suit, but definitely odd trousers and sports coat. I might even go completely crazy and wear a button down as well.
Yet I need to remember the fact that I'm trying to impress Target, and entice them to hire me.

Career fair

Now that I've graduated, I need to start looking for work full time. So yesterday it was off to attend the LUC job fair. To be honest, I attend all of the LUC job fairs, but there was a particular reason I was anxious to go to this one. There were a few companies there that I've either interviewed with before, or have no interest in. However I do already have individual interviews scheduled with 2 of the companies that were there (hurray!), so I decided to just stop by their booths to say hello.

As crazy as this is, I was very excited that I got to wear a suit! I wore a navy blue suit, white shirt, and brown shoes/belt, and looked might spiffy. In honor of the final four, I went with an orange tie. The gf thought that's a little silly, but hey stay true to your school!

Looking for a new apartment

Well the gf and I have finally begun to look for a new apartment. We don't have to be out of our current place until May 1, but I hope to be able to get something starting sometime in April. That way we can spread out the move over more time, without having to rush all in one weekend. Of course that means paying for 2 rents, but making the move easier is probably worth it.

We live in River North, and while it's close by to many things, I'm anxious to move. We are looking at either Logan Square, Lakeview, or the River West/Wicker Park/Bucktown/ Ukrainian Village areas. Another important addition will be that it will have a separate bedroom. A giant studio might look very cool, but it's a little inconvenient when one of us wants to get some sleep, while the other wants to stay up and watch ATHF.

So tonight the gf and I are meeting in River West to take a look at a few places. It's funny, but both of the buildings are within a few blocks of my previous apartment in that neighborhood. I've probably walked by both of them a couple of times without ever considering that I might be living there one day. I'm really excited though, since I loved that neighborhood, or more accurately I loved eating and drinking there. The Matchbox, Twisted Spoke, Mike's, SIP, Fresco, The Breakfast Club, and many others, all provide great memories for me.

Graduation Party

Well I'm done with school, and the gf and her sisters held a graduation party in my honor tonight. I must have drank at least 4 martinis, so forgive me if this is a little disjointed.
I had a spectacular time, and am very pleased that my gf's family likes me enough to have something like this for me. My family showed up, along with a couple of friends from school, and we all drank a LOT of martini's, which is pretty appropriate since it was a Master's of Martini's party.
It's almost 1am, I rather drunk, so I'm going to bed.
